SITE MANAGER/ CHILD CARE WORK SUPERVISOR

 

A. REQUIREMENTS:

  1. At least 2 years of child care experience as a CCWI, II, Sr. or Houseparent and at least 1 year of the three having been supervisory experience in a 6-bed residential treatment facility or comparative operation;
  2. Good moral character, reliable, mature and conscientious;
  3. Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing, and able to direct, supervise, lead, train and manage the staff treatment team;

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently list and/or move up to 30 pounds; and manage the weight of a child which is equal to 50% of your weight... Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral visions and depth perception.
  5. Hold a valid California driver’s license with a good 3 year driving record and able to drive the company vehicle, TB and health clearances and CII clearance; and, hold current First Aid and CPR certification;
  6. Have training in Professional Assault Response Training or a similar system and training in creating a non-assaultive environment or emergency interventions;
  7. Hold a B.A. degree in a social science from an accredited college or university as verified by transcript.

 

B. DUTIES:

  1. Personnel:
    1. To hire, interview and train all staff including volunteers, interns and work-study staff and maintain their personnel files and respective house data sheets;
    2. To complete required evaluations and disciplinary protocols on all staff in a timely fashion and submit to Director prior to review with staff;
    3. To terminate staff;
    4. To train and supervise all staff, including awake night staff;
    5. To schedule and maintain a monthly staff working schedule;
    6. To arrange coverage for sick and absent employees;
    7. To maintain good staff relations between and with staff developing a “team treatment” approach, celebrating birthdays; and,
    8. To be On Call Mon-Thurs. for your house and on rotated weekends for both houses.

     

  2. Physical plant and maintenance:
    1. To ensure that cleanliness standards of the home are maintained, as per Title 22;
    2. To make note of deficiencies and their completion in a timely manner in the household via the maintenance sheet;
    3. Same as b for the vehicle;
    4. To make a weekly inspection of the complete facility, including the vehicle;
    5. To correct safety hazards in the home or vehicle;
    6. And to perform and record disaster drills at a minimum of every three months

     

  3. Clothing and personal needs;
    1. Ensure that the children are given choices in their clothing selections, posters, bedspreads and bike helmets;
    2. To be responsible for all inventories (intake, quarterly and departures) and initialing of personal property and clothing, and the updating of sizes;
    3. To be responsible for the appearance of the residents and procurement of clothing and shoes for the residents;

     

  4. Accounting:
    1. Weekly monitoring of house and children’s cash accounts;
    2. Payment of all house accounts (children’s weekly, grocery, personal & incidentals) and closing all accounts at the end of the month with the receipts in good order;
    3. To ensure that all notations are explained to the child and office; and,
    4. To ensure that each child (and staff as well) knows the status of his account.

     

  5. Program:
    1. Mandatory attendance at staffings, consults, manager and staff meetings.
    2. Responsible for conducting staff meetings as well as assuming responsibilities for the house during the Director’s absence;
    3. Ensuring that the log is well maintained and that notations are being made in medical files, case files, point/step/level sheets, medication and temperature sheets, heights and weights, menus and other chartings;
    4. Maintaining individual goals for the residents and monitoring of them, including the review of all written quarterlies;
    5. Conducting group meetings;
    6. Attending social events, athletic activities, etc. associated with each child – at least one such event per child per quarter.
    7. Ensuring that activities are appropriate, fall within the guidelines of the program and promote growth in the children;
    8. Arranging and coordinating celebrations in the household. (Note: Children need to participate in the celebration of staff birthdays as well as their own.)
    9. Ensuring that general care is maintained for each resident including grooming and personal care items, furnishings, storage of personal property, clothing and meeting all health care needs including medications.

     

  6. Child Nutrition Services
    Responsible for quarterly inventories, carrying out CNS directives and end of month, daily menu sheets.

 

C. Work week and pay periods

This is a 45 hour/week position. 25 hours of your shift/week need to be on shift as a CCW Supervisor. CTE is paid after 54 hours/week only with justification indicating the health and safety of the residents is at stake, and it is not on a regular basis.
We recommend strongly that your hours vary in order to cover new employees, to observe problem areas or just to taste the food or observe. For example, come in early, drop by late or drop by when not expected to check on supervision.
The pay period is from 1st-15th; and 16th-end of the month. The work week is Sunday to Saturday.

D. Guidelines for hours/week/resident. 3.33 hours/wk/resident of HM equals

1.67 hrs. of Quarterly, Needs & assessments, observation and supervision of staff
1.0 hr of staff training and support
0.33 hr. of staff meeting time
0.33 hr. of phone bill, weekly accounts, payroll, scheduling, etc.

 

E. The hourly range is from $10.00-$15.00 and is dependent upon experience and education.
This does not include agency paid-benefits of medical (its will cost you 10% of the premium to obtain Kaiser coverage or you may elect cash reimbursement = to 70% of the premium, dental, vision and group term life for the employee after 60 days FTE. The benefits package adds about $_____/hr if considered. A cafeteria plan is available for dependent coverage. The dental and vision cannot be reimbursed if denied.

Accrued sick time is computed at 32 hours/year. Accrued vacation time is computed at 40 hrs/year for the first year and 80 hrs/year thereafter. All figures are based on Full Time Equivalency (173.20 hrs/month) and not on anniversary dates.

Paid vacation or cash is available after the anniversary date.
