STAFF PERSONNEL
PARAEDUCATOR
- At least 18 years of age, with a demonstrated interest in assisting or teaching youngsters in a one-to-one setting;
- Meet and pass the “PARAEDUCATOR” position requirements as advertised by Davis Unified School District, which include fingerprint clearance and minimum competency test for educators;
- Provide a DMV clearance and be insurable; TB and health clearances required by the Agency;
- Good moral character, being reliable, mature and conscientious;
- Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing, and able to exhibit good staff relationships;
- Observation of home operations before employment.
- To communicate openly with staff regarding current status of the youngster being tutored, and to make loge entries regarding his progress and behavior;
- To attend staff meetings, meetings with the tutor coordinator, and house manager at each of the sites;
- To meet with teachers and/or aides regarding the child’s academic interests and progress;
- To test each of the youngsters in the assigned household for academic assessment at the beginning and end of the school year;
- To be aware of the needs of the youngster, both academic and emotional, and work to achieve stated goals;
- To be responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the tutoring room;
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment and supplies utilized for tutoring.
