PARAEDUCATOR

1. At least 18 years of age, with a demonstrated interest in assisting or teaching youngsters in a one-to-one setting;
2. Meet and pass the “PARAEDUCATOR” position requirements as advertised by Davis Unified School District, which include fingerprint clearance and minimum competency test for educators;
3. Provide a DMV clearance and be insurable; TB and health clearances required by the Agency;
4. Good moral character, being reliable, mature and conscientious;
5. Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing, and able to exhibit good staff relationships;
6. Observation of home operations before employment.

1. To communicate openly with staff regarding current status of the youngster being tutored, and to make loge entries regarding his progress and behavior;
2. To attend staff meetings, meetings with the tutor coordinator, and house manager at each of the sites;
3. To meet with teachers and/or aides regarding the child’s academic interests and progress;
4. To test each of the youngsters in the assigned household for academic assessment at the beginning and end of the school year;
5. To be aware of the needs of the youngster, both academic and emotional, and work to achieve stated goals;
6. To be responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the tutoring room;
7. To be responsible for the maintenance of the equipment and supplies utilized for tutoring.

3. Work week and pay periods: The work week is from Monday through Friday. The pay periods are from the 15^th to the 15^th of each month. A Davis Joint Unified School District time sheet and a detailed Agency time sheet are required on the 14^th of each month, to be submitted to the Agency Director before payment can be made. Checks are mailed, or can be picked up at the DJUSD office.

4. Salary: Instructional aides are paid by DJUSD on an hourly basis at the advertised rate.
